Cape Town at Hotel Verde Airport (Standard Room) → Heidelberg at Skeiding Guest Farm (Nguni Room)
"As usual I was awake very early! But we got up at 8.00h. We had a good night sleep and had a very nice breakfast before the shuttle service brought us at 10.30 h back to Cape Town International Airport where we got our nice Nissan Qashqai.
We started immediately in direction to Heidelberg where we have our first stop over in South Africa.
On our way we did stop for a first shopping at the Somerset Mall. The most necessary things including loads of mineral water! … and nicer stuff for the evenings. ;-)
Our journey was quit pleasant and we arrived at Skeiding Guest Farm ca. 16.10h. We had a very warm welcome, the explained everything, asked us for our dinner wishes and we got a little tour on the farm where we could observe the first time in our live how the shave sheep. Great experience!
The farm has a little curious shop where on can buy different animal skins, ostrich product as feather, eggs, shoes, very nice hand bags, … and other typical south African crafts.
We have a wonderful chalet named Nguni (a special kind of cattle) including a nice stoep (porch) and a whirlpool.
A nice swimming pool and as the Internet were available around the main house. We enjoyed our self’s around the pool with a nice G&T before we had our dinner around 19.00h.
We had as a starter: Carp tartlet with 2 sauces, Bobootie with rice and raisins for our main course with different veggies, and a brandy pudding with vanilla ice cream and custard sauce for desert. Really great cooking!
We where sitting on a table with a nice older couple, Reiner & Anne from the Münsterland / Greven. It was a nice evening with pleasant company.
We closed our eyes around 00.00h, quite tired but very happy. "
