Lovely SA 2015
Day 5 at 29 Jan 2015
Tsitsikamma at Storms River Mouth Restcamp (Oceanette open-plan) → Amakhala Game Reserve at Woodbury Tented Camp (Luxury Tent)
"The night was very nice and it really helped to put on the extra blankets to make the bed softer. After 6,5 hours sleep we got up, had a nice little breakfast, packed and went away around 10 o’clock.
Today we carry on in direction Peterson. Just 80km outside Port Elizabeth we are staying at the Amakhala Game Reserve at the Woodbary Tented Camp.
The journey just went fine. We stopped, like in my old times, at the Nanaga Farmstall, where we had a nice lunch. We carried on to Woodbary Tented Camp where we arrived at 14.00h exact.
We had a warm welcome from Katrin and got a nice little cocktail. Katrin is also German and live here for almost 5 years now. We got all info and we’d shown to our nice and quite luxurious tent. We have also a wonderful view.
We could have had lunch but first we had already and we where tired so we preferred to rest a bit before we went for our first game drive with Lenny He’s Zimbabwean and because of the bad working and political situation there he came to work in South Africa. It was a nice 3 and _ hour drive with a little break for a sun-downer with snacks. We haven’t seen that much animals but we had nice encounters, especially with the elephant’s!
Back at the camp we had a quick shower before we went at 20.00h to dinner. We where a nice group of people: 2 Russian ladies, 2 Danish couples and the both of us with Katrin.
We had a three-course dinner: steamed green asparagus with smoked kudu Carpaccio, Pastry filled with vegetables and a tomato sauce and chocolate cake with strawberries and caramel sauce and we ended with a coffee. It was quite nice!
We quickly checked our email and went to our tent. Because we had to get up early tomorrow morning we went to bed around 23.30h."
